A tailored service for children – discover it
You want the best for your children? So do we.
Our new pediatric blood sampling service is specially designed to ensure children's comfort and parents' peace of mind.
We know blood tests can be stressful. That’s why we provide you with a team trained in pediatric sampling as well as specialized equipment to make each procedure as gentle and reassuring as possible.
Specialized nurses who listen to your child
Our nurses, specialized in pediatric blood sampling, are skilled in the gentlest techniques and know how to establish compassionate communication with children.
Their priority: to create an atmosphere of trust and calm so every blood draw is safe and stress-free.
What makes the difference:
- Capillary sampling: a gentle method, ideal for infants and young children
- A bond of trust created with the child: to reduce fear and encourage cooperation
- Personalized parental support: you are informed and supported every step of the way
- Relaxation and distraction techniques: to soothe and reassure your child during the blood draw

Cutting-edge equipment, designed for children
To ensure that blood draws are quick, gentle, and appropriate for your child's age, we use specially selected equipment.

Capillary devices for little ones
Because infants have thinner skin and heightened sensitivity, we use capillary lancets specially designed for pediatrics. These next-generation devices allow for precise, quick, and significantly less painful sampling than traditional lancets. This helps reduce anxiety in the child... and in you.

Pediatric needles
We've selected ultra-fine needles tailored to the specific needs of children, even the youngest ones. Their design halves the sampling time without increasing discomfort, thanks to gentler penetration and optimized flow. The process is quicker, more efficient, and better tolerated by children.

Microtubes for faster results
Less blood taken means less stress for children. Thanks to the use of microtubes, we achieve optimal analysis quality while preserving the blood volume of our little patients. This means a faster, simpler, and less invasive collection, with minimal impact on the child's well-being.

Does your child need a blood test? Prepare with peace of mind
Best practices before the test
A blood test can raise questions or cause anxiety. With a bit of preparation, it can become a simpler, smoother, and even empowering experience for your child. Here are the steps to help make it easier.
Choose the right time:
Schedule the test at a time when your child is well rested and calm. Avoid late afternoons, post-activity times, or nap times: a tired child is often more sensitive and less cooperative.
Explain what will happen:
Use age-appropriate words. Be honest, without giving anxiety-inducing details. Avoid phrases like "it won't hurt" — they may only hear the word "hurt".
🗣 Helpful ways to explain:
- "Your body has veins like little roads where your blood flows."
- "The nurse will put on a stretchy band, you'll squeeze your fist, then there will be a tiny pinch, like a little squeeze."
- "She'll take a bit of blood, put on a bandage, and it’s all done."
Let them know that it only lasts a few seconds and that they should stay still during that short time.
Prepare something they can bring:
Suggest bringing a comforting item: a cuddly toy, book, toy, or a tablet with a video. Let them choose — this helps them feel involved and builds confidence.
Consider a numbing patch or cream:
With a doctor’s prescription, you can use an anesthetic cream or patch. These are covered by CNS and should be applied before leaving home or about 30 minutes before the test.
Dress them in practical clothing:
Choose comfortable clothes with sleeves that can be easily rolled up. This helps the nurse and avoids unnecessary handling.
Check the medical instructions:
Some tests require your child to be fasting. You’ll be informed when booking the appointment, but if in doubt, feel free to contact your lab.
Stay calm: your calmness is their best support:
Children are true emotional sponges. Your behavior can either soothe or amplify their fear. Stay smiling, confident, and present. It makes all the difference.
